There are myriad ways to support Seven Arrows Elementary School. Our parents, alumni, grandparents, and friends of the school are perhaps the most dedicated group of supporters. They embody our core values and demonstrate our mission in action by donating their time and talents. Please review the many volunteer opportunities listed below or sign-up to volunteer today!

Party Book Parties
Party Book Parties are themed parties that are hosted by parents and faculty members. Spots to these parties are open to anyone in our community who purchases a ticket. Donating a party is a great way to bond with others in the SAE community while expressing creative ways to have fun. Past party themes have included: Gift Swap Party, Taco and Tequila Party, Grilled Cheese and Beer Party, Gingerbread Decorating Party, and Family and Outdoor Movie Screening.

Dine Around
This is an evening of casual potluck dinner parties for Seven Arrows parents hosted at different families’ homes. In the spirit of building community, every dinner includes a mix of parents from each grade. Each party will host an average of 8 couples.

This is the first fundraiser of the year, which takes place in the Palisades Park. The kids learn about endurance, timing, and building self-confidence while walking or running laps to raise money for our school. Coaches Fran, Tyler, and John train students and parents have a great time cheering them on.

Volunteers are needed to plan and organize the Halloween-themed activities after our school costume parade.

In order to enrich the experience of Spanish class and provide bilingual role models from our community, this committee is looking for Spanish-speaking parents to sign up to read to the Kindergarten through Second Grade Spanish classes.

Angel Hearts
This committee helps year round as the need arises.  The birth of a baby, a broken leg, a time of need – Angel Hearts are there to send flowers, bring food, or lend a helping hand to anyone in our Seven Arrows Community.

El Dia De Los Muertos
Come be a part of the most colorful and joyous occasion of the fall, which is a rich and lively Latin cultural celebration to honor our ancestors. This committee will help with the preparations, including arranging flowers, crafts, painting, helping our kids make Calaveras (sugar skulls), and assembling children’s artwork to create the beautiful altars.

Literary Festival
Time commitment spans from Dec 5 -8  and varies over the course of the festival. This extraordinary festival of books is filled with guest authors, readings for children and adults, and a spectacular book fair! More details to follow.

Black History Month Celebration
Time commitment varies with planning in January and support on the date of the event. Volunteers work with our wonderful music teachers, Colin Simson and Norma LaTuchie to create a musical celebration of Black History Month during this exciting and memorable Kuyam.

Our magnificent Masquerade Festival showcases your child’s vision and mastery as he/she embodies a character from history. Sign up to be part of the team that coordinates the costume-making process and the set design. This committee will help organize the sewing workshop, assist parents through the costume-making process by directing them to the helpers and materials they need, support our art teacher, Clinton Bopp, and the sewing helpers, and help create the theater sets. No sewing experience necessary!

Seahawks Athletics Day
Come be part of Seven Arrows’ own version of the Olympics! The children are divided into teams and participate in several athletic events (long jump, bean bag archery, sit-ups, etc.). Volunteers are needed to help set up and break down the field and to coordinate and score the events.

Field Day
Help celebrate our dads on this fun-filled day of activities. Volunteers are needed to oversee games, order food and beverages, set-up and clean-up.

Spring Fundraiser Sub-Committees
Three-month time commitment with varying levels of involvement during that period. We are inviting creative, fun and organized people to co-chair one of the following sub-committees for this wonderful event that features dinner, dancing, music, as well as a silent and live auction. Committees include: Donation, Online Auction Catalog, Catalog Images, Raffle, Decorations, Distribution.

Our yearbook is one of our treasured Seven Arrows keepsakes. If photography is one of your passions, this committee is for you. You will be photographing various school activities and festivals throughout the school year. Photographers required throughout the year. Main commitment is April and May.

Art Workshop
The Art Workshop supports the various festivals and events throughout the school year by creating backdrops, decorations, and other artistic touches. You may find yourself stringing flowers for El Dia de Los Muertos, creating encouraging signs for athletic events, or making and painting backdrops and props for theater productions. Drop in any Wednesday — no artistic ability or prior sign-up needed!

Edible Garden
The Edible Garden is part of the Seven Arrows Curriculum. Once every six weeks or so, the children harvest and cook and then replenish the garden by planting new herbs, fruit and vegetables. Come join the children in this unique hands-on learning experience.

Green Committee
Is keeping the environment safe and green one of your passions? Help our school maintain zero waste, school recycling and composting. Help celebrate Earth Day in a grand and green way! Share your ideas, facts and tidbits about becoming more “green” with the community in Arrow Dynamics’ “Green Corner.”

Holi Festival
Holi is a joyous Indian festival of colors and love. Seven Arrows celebrates with music, art installations, and dance. Commitment is rehearsal time in the weeks before the festival and decorating the day before the festival.

Birthday Committee
This committee will acknowledge the birthdays of our specialty teachers and SAE staff (classroom teachers are acknowledged by their individual classes). You will help to honor birthdays by creating or providing a small memento to represent our community’s appreciation (for example, a simple birthday card, a poster board that all the children can sign, a birthday crown, etc.). Small time and minor financial commitment throughout the year.

Additional Activities: Holiday Fund, Hiking, Dancing, Parent & Child Basketball, Parent & Child Soccer, and Surfing.
