Fine and performing arts are, and have always been, a high priority and value at Seven Arrows. Our school was founded on the idea of creating global festivals that would be a celebration of the arts and traditions of diverse cultures from around the world. The school’s arts programs are the heart of our experiential learning methods, are closely tied to our Global Cultural History (social studies) program, and embody the idea that powerful arts combined with powerful academics create high achieving, high performing students who love learning.
Our arts programs have served as both a point of integration for learning in other content areas, and a context for application of that learning. Through such school events as El Día de los Muertos, Black History Month, the Masquerade festival, and El Día de la Madre (Mother’s Day), students transform their learning into artistic masterpieces, and learn a variety of arts disciplines in the process. The Seven Arrows fine and performing arts programs reflect the school’s philosophy of embracing the uniqueness of each child and respecting the multiple ways in which art is both learned and communicated. As such, SAE hosts the following disciplines as part of the formal curriculum:
• Fine Visual Arts
